Like most new parents, we bought everything – crib, diaper bag, bottles, pacifiers, baby pillow, strollers, multiple baby carriers. You don’t know what you need, you don’t when you need it, everyone has advice. God, the internet has advice.

Of all the random things we bought, sold and gave away, one of the few things we that remain – the Ergobaby Adapt.

We live in the tropics so heat and humidity means things start to smell pretty quickly. Plus, this thing was made for carrying a child, there is puke, blood and other bodily fluids aplenty to deal with. Washes are easy – just chuck it into the washing machine. And it’s tough, it doesn’t need to be babied. It has been hiking through the jungle with us, through mountains and snow while on holiday, dragged through airports and sports days and family days.

Unlike the 64 step origami-ish process of some of the other baby carriers, the ErgoBaby Adapt is easy to put on and use. Just buckle the round bit around your waist, pop your baby in the middle and reach behind for the rear buckle.
